Jongeneel Verpakkingen B.V. handles personal data with care. This privacy policy explains which data we process when you use our webshop, place an order or contact us, why we do so and what rights you have. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. WHO WE ARE

The data controller is Jongeneel Verpakkingen B.V., located at Meridiaan 9, 2801 DA Gouda, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 29007216. You can reach us at info@jongeneelverpakking.nl or +31 (0)182 555 050.

2. WHICH DATA WE PROCESS

Depending on how you use our webshop, we process the following data:

  • Account and contact details: first and last name, company name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address and, where applicable, your VAT number.
  • Order details: the products you order, order numbers, amounts, delivery method and your order history.
  • Payment details: the payment method, the payment status and a transaction reference. Full bank or card details are never shared with us; they are processed by our payment provider Stripe (see section 5).
  • Newsletter details: email address, company name and name, if you sign up for our newsletter.
  • Correspondence: the content of messages you send us via the contact form, email or phone.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and data about your visit to the website, partly through cookies (see section 8).

3. WHY WE PROCESS THIS DATA

We only process personal data when there is a legal basis for doing so:

  • Performance of a contract: to manage your account, to process, collect payment for, deliver and invoice your order, and to handle questions, complaints or returns.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with, among other things, the statutory tax retention requirements for invoices and records.
  • Consent: for sending our newsletter and for placing analytical and marketing cookies that are not strictly necessary. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interest: to secure our website and webshop, prevent fraud and improve our services.

4. WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH

We never sell your data. We only share it with parties we need in order to provide our services:

  • Webshop hosting and management: Drife B.V., which hosts the webshop and its data on our behalf.
  • Payments: Stripe, for processing online payments (see section 5).
  • Carriers: to deliver your order, they receive your name, delivery address and, if needed, your phone number.
  • Website statistics: Google (via Google Tag Manager), to understand how our website is used.
  • Customer reviews: Kiyoh, for displaying reviews.
  • Newsletter: Mailchimp, for sending our newsletter.

We conclude a data processing agreement with parties that process data on our behalf. We may also disclose data when we are legally required to do so, for example to the Dutch Tax Administration.

5. PAYMENTS VIA STRIPE

Online payments in our webshop, including iDEAL, are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., based in Ireland. When you make a payment, your payment details are processed directly by Stripe. We only receive the information needed to handle your order, such as the payment status and a transaction reference.

Stripe also processes some data as an independent data controller, for example to prevent fraud and to comply with legal obligations for financial institutions. For these purposes, Stripe may transfer data to countries outside the European Economic Area, with appropriate safeguards. More information can be found in Stripe's privacy policy.

6. TRANSFERS OUTSIDE THE EEA

Some of the parties mentioned, such as Google and Stripe, may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. This only happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. HOW LONG WE KEEP DATA

  • Account details: for as long as your account exists. You can have your account deleted at any time.
  • Orders and invoices: 7 years, in accordance with the statutory tax retention period.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link.
  • Correspondence: for as long as needed to handle your question, and a maximum of 2 years after that, unless the correspondence relates to an order.
  • Cookies: according to the retention periods shown in the cookie notice.

8. COOKIES

Our website uses cookies. Functional cookies are necessary for the webshop to work, for example to remember your shopping cart and login details; no consent is required for these. We only place analytical and marketing cookies, such as those via Google Tag Manager, if you give your consent. You can always delete or block cookies through your browser settings.

9. SECURITY

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The webshop uses a secure connection (HTTPS), and access to personal data is limited to employees and parties who need it for their work.

10. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • the right to access the data we hold about you;
  • the right to have incorrect data rectified;
  • the right to have your data erased, insofar as we are not legally required to retain it;
  • the right to restriction of processing;
  • the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • the right to data portability;
  • the right to withdraw consent at any time.

You can send a request to info@jongeneelverpakking.nl. We will respond within one month. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to verify your identity.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

11. CHANGES

We may update this privacy policy, for example when our services or the law change. The most recent version is always available on this page. The date at the top shows when the policy was last updated.

This privacy policy is a translation of the Dutch version. In case of any differences, the Dutch text prevails.
